Data of 180 Million Domino’s India customers leaked online
Pizza delivery service Dominos India is the latest victim of a massive data breach that exposed order details of 180 Million Pizza orders made via, the service.
What Happened?
Domino’s India website was allegedly hacked and have sensitive customer details such as names, phone numbers, and credit card details that have been put up for sale on the dark Web.
In an official statement, the company has revealed, “Jubilant Food Works experienced an information security incident recently. No data pertaining to the financial information of any person was accessed and the incident has not resulted in any operational or business impact. As a policy we do not store financial details or credit card data of our customers, thus no such information has been compromised. Our team of experts is investigating the matter and we have taken necessary actions to contain the incident.”
Allegedly, Domino’s India data was taken earlier in April and this included customer information and also its internal files that included details about the company’s 250 employees, amounting to 13TB.
The hacked details are believed to also include the details of 10 lakh credit cards. The order details leaked included customer names, phone numbers, email IDs, addresses, and payment details. The breach is claimed to also include Domino’s India’s internal files that were generated between 2015 and 2021.
Impact
The data breach exposes highly sensitive data. Having such sensitive financial data in the public domain would make it incredibly easy to trick, defraud, and steal from the people exposed.
The hacker posted messages on the dark Web planning to build a search portal to enable querying of the leaked data.
